We value helping you build community.
Clinically, one of the best ways to do that is to encourage those who are seeking connection and support to join group therapy.
Our Washington, DC-based practice offers tailor-made group therapy and psychoeducation groups throughout the year. Often, this relies on our individual therapy clients and community members to let us know when they would like additional support around a certain topic.
If we hear the same or similar topics from a few clients, we can build a group just for those clients! Topics our therapists offer for support groups include, but are not limited to:
Peer Support for Black Women
Financial Worries and Empowerment
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Sexual Trauma
Peer Support for Queer Folx
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Young Adult Life Transitions
Anxiety
Depression
Relationship Concerns
Our session rates for group therapy are designed to be affordable and range from $30-$100 per session depending on the group.
“How do I know if Group Therapy is right for me?”
Group therapy is a good fit for anyone who is seeking a therapeutic community. While group therapy isn’t a replacement for a social support system, it is a great addition! We always encourage group therapy when clients are hoping to feel less alone, to learn from others, or to practice vulnerability in a safe and controlled space. We know how hard it is to open up, at Out of the Margins, we offer opportunities to practice this very important skill.
