Individual therapy with Out of the Margins

Our practice is designed to help you feel at ease and bring your whole self into sessions. We begin individual therapy sessions with creating a solid relationship and all of the uniqueness your story brings.

All of our therapists take a culturally-responsive and trauma-informed approach to our work with clients. We lead with curiosity over judgement and always seek to understand how your experiences have impacted the version of you who is coming to us today.

Our rate for a 45-50 minute individual therapy session is $195 and we also offer an equitable pricing model that you can read more about HERE.

“How do I choose a good therapist?”

We hear this question all the time, you’re not alone! The great news? We help you pick! We review your contact form entry and pair you with the therapist who best aligns with your availability, symptoms, and modalities your prefer. After we have identified 1-2 therapists who will likely be a good fit for you, we allow you to pick who you feel most comfortable with. After you choose your preferred therapist, we will offer you a few options for either a free 15 minute consultation or full 45-50 minute first session (also called an “intake”).

“What if I’ve had a bad experience in therapy before?”

We completely understand and many of the clients who come to us have had bad or unfulfilling experiences with therapists in the past. We pride ourselves on being approachable, friendly, and relatable therapists here. It is our job to make you feel as comfortable and understood as possible! If you’re worried about previous experiences impacting your therapy work, we encourage you to:

1) Let your therapist know during the consultation what experience(s) you’ve had and what you would like to see with your new therapist.

2) If you’re not ready to tell your therapist directly, you can let our admin team know and we will inform the therapist or you’re welcome to include this information on your intake paperwork so the therapist has all important background information.
