Brianna’s Bio:
It's true that being a woman can present unique challenges and societal expectations that can make life difficult and overwhelming. More specifically, Black women have a distinctive standpoint through unique experiences of oppression and the constant fight for equality and worth. Experiencing generational pressure and traumas to uphold a stigma of being stronger than other women races. Constantly seeking self worth through high achievements, working twice as hard, not asking for help, being overlooked, mistreated, suffering in silence and always taking care of everyone else's needs. Sound familiar? It's okay, I know the feeling. I understand that sometimes you may have anxious and negative thoughts that can bring uncertainties about your belonging and who you want to become. While trying to manage the racing thoughts and emotions that surface when you want to speak out, but don't feel safe because you refuse to be identified as crazy or weak. The deep fear that you'll be understood, that your life experiences will not be valued or handled with care if you're vulnerable. (Take a deep breath in with me, and let it out). Trust me, I know and understand all of the feelings and I’d love to help you navigate the daily challenges of this life of a Black woman.
As a Black Woman Therapist I strive to break barriers and change to traditional stereotypical therapy that doesn't serve our community as black women. I value and honor culturally responsive care and support. Being understood through the lens of a therapist who can share similar life experiences in culture, race, and gender can be the start of your release to begin letting your “strong black woman” guard down. Black women deserve to take up space unapologetically, boundaries that are respected, soft mornings, peace that isn’t earned, to receive support without having to be strong first, and deserve to be taken seriously for a life that feels like your own.
You can not pour from an empty cup. You can not refill your cup if you do not spend time prioritizing you and the things you need. My passion and goals are to advocate, empower, uplift and support black women’s life’s journey, as you navigate to become the best and truest version of self. I’m so honored to create a safe space for you to explore, establish, heal, release, define your authentic self, highlight your worth, express self love, grace and compassion to conquer your life's and world's obstacles.
You are the expert of your life. I'm here to challenge and guide you to do the hard work for yourself to achieve your life goals. Through active working sessions, I want to walk alongside you through the areas of life that are a bit challenging, maybe unfamiliar and uncomfortable to identify and navigate alone. My speciality is helping clients understand their power that’s within to thrive in this world. No matter what experiences or hard life circumstances have occurred, I want to help you ignite their inner self and all the amazing treasures you possess to conquer your stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, low self esteem and societal expectations.
You can expect my approach to be compassionate, direct, structured, and empowering. This is a non judgmental space for us to work through, this is your time for yourself to support your personal growth and goals. To build tools to withstand life’s hard, messy, and unpredictable challenges. I value authenticity as we build a positive working relationship to enhance your self worth, boundaries and overall wellness of life. Through self love, dedication, pouring in all of the good things we're worthy of, being seen in a safe space. Everyone in this world has a lot going on, but I'm here to encourage and support you to spend time pouring into yourself, affirming the power within and elevating your worth. You don’t have to do it alone, because you’re not alone. Come. Have a seat, let’s chat.
